India A has officially announced its squad for two four-day unofficial Tests against South Africa A, commencing from October 30 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. This squad is pivotal not only for the players’ individual development but also as vital preparation for the senior team ahead of the India vs South Africa Test series starting November 14.
Rishabh Pant will captain the side, marking his anticipated return from a foot injury sustained earlier this year during the fourth Test against England. Joining him as vice-captain is Sai Sudharsan, India’s current Test No.3. The squad has a blend of experienced and emerging talents, aimed at gaining crucial match exposure.
The first match squad is notably filled with young talents like Ayush Mhatre, Tanush Kotian, and Anshul Kamboj, who are on the brink of making their mark in the national setup. The second match will showcase more seasoned players, including KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj, ensuring a balance between experience and youthful exuberance.
