As the IPL 2026 approaches, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are reportedly ready to trade their all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for Rajasthan Royals’ wicket-keeper Sanju Samson. This follows earlier trade talks that were halted due to disagreements between the two franchises regarding terms.
According to sources, CSK and RR are now serious about pursuing this trade. Both teams recognize the value of each player, with Jadeja and Samson both valued around Rs 18 crore. However, Rajasthan Royals are setting conditions for the trade.
Rajasthan Royals have expressed their reluctance to accept a direct swap. Reports suggest that they are insisting on the inclusion of another player, specifically Dewald Brevis. Brevis was acquired by CSK during the mid-season of IPL 2025 after going unsold in the mega auction.
CSK management is reportedly firm on not including any additional player in the trade. Their position appears to be one of strength, believing that Jadeja’s value alone suffices for a trade.
The potential trade could have significant implications for both teams this upcoming season. Sanju Samson is considered a formidable batsman, and aligning him with CSK could strengthen their lineup considerably.
“Both players are pivotal in their respective teams. If the trade goes through, it could reshape the dynamics of IPL 2026,” commented a cricket analyst. Another expert added, “Including an additional player might complicate things, but RR’s strategy indicates they are looking for long-term benefits.”
As negotiations continue, both franchises will need to find common ground to make the deal happen. Fans are eager to see how this saga unfolds and whether both teams can come to a suitable agreement before the IPL 2026 season kicks off.
