Cricket South Africa (CSA) has revealed its 15-member squad for the highly anticipated Test series against India, which begins on November 14. Temba Bavuma, who led the team to victory in the World Test Championship (WTC), returns to captain the side after recovering from injury.
Bavuma’s return comes at a crucial time for South Africa. He has been an inspirational figure, steering the team through challenging matches. The CSA stated, “Test captain Temba Bavuma returns to the side after missing the recent Pakistan Test series as he completes his recovery from a left calf strain.”
Here is the full squad announced for the Test series against India:

Under Bavuma’s leadership, South Africa has demonstrated remarkable performance. Since 2023, they have not lost a single Test match, with a record of nine wins and one draw in ten Tests. However, their past struggle in India remains a daunting challenge. The last time South Africa won a Test match in India was in February 2010, during Graeme Smith’s captaincy.
The upcoming series could mark a significant turnaround, as South Africa seeks to win a Test match in India for the first time in over a decade. In contrast, India enjoys a strong position in the World Test Championship 2025-27, currently holding the third spot.
As cricket fans eagerly await the start of the Test series on November 14, all eyes will be on Temba Bavuma and his squad to see if they can break the long-standing winless streak in India.
